Please Help our Brothers and Sisters in India
India is a colorful place. It is adorned with lavious bright colored clothing and exotic, spicy culinary dishes. It is considered a good place to visit by world travelers. However, to the residents there, things are not always so gay and festive.
India serves home to several different religions. Hinduism is the largest of the religions in India. Approximately 82% of the country's population is Hindu. Islam is the country's second largest religion with 12% of the population being such. Christianity ranks third in the country of India. Only 2.5% of the population is Christian. Even though that is approximately 24 million people, it is still a small margin. There are 5 other religions that populate India below Christianity. They are Sikhuism (2%), Buddhuism (.7%), Janism (.5%), Zoroastrianism (.1%) and Judism (.0005%).
Anti-Christian violence in India refers to religiously-motivated violence against Christians in India, usually perpetrated by Hindu nationalists. The acts of violence include arson of churches, re-conversion of Christians to Hinduism by force and threats of physical violence, distribution of threatening literature, burning of Bibles, raping of nuns, murder of Christian priests and destruction of Christian schools, colleges, and cemeteries.
In 2009, it was reported that, a group of Hindus dragged people out of the churches during services and beat severely each one of them, including women and children. They also burned a number of churches at that time. This year in 2010, just a month or so ago, Extreme Buddist went on a Christian killing spree, killing in one week 200+ Christians. They also burned a number of churches during this spree..

We in the United States sometimes forget the Freedom we have. Many countries... like India persecute Christians for their faith. The people in hese countries also face terrorism, but from among their own people. Many have chosen to remain silent. But, even in silence, the needs of the innocent still ring loud...."We need help!"
Little children in orphanages we correspond with are in need of food staples and clothes. Supplies for school are always a
demand.
Widows struggle daily to make it in a life, where things were easier when their mate was still there. Not all countries accept their women being in authority, not even over themselves. It is hard for them. They need help with the little things.
Others are in bondage of the caste system.
Christian Churches, trying to Spread the Gospel in mostly non-Christian cultures can be a difficult task. Persucution is eminate....congregations are in danger of being scattered.
For alot of countries with non-Christian cultures, all they know is war. Devastation is at their back door. We can help some. Most just need our prayers.Despite the consequences, whole-hearted Christians wake up each morning, not knowing if it is the last one they will see their families and loved ones on this side. Emails come in our inbox, begging, Please pray, pray, pray...for me, my family, I know if I do (this or that) for Christ, there will be lost of life....People, we do not know how blessed we are in this country.
Would you please pray for these non-Christian cultures and countries. The country of India and the other countries as well.
Would you also purpose in your heart to give a love gift toward these dear ones? Your gift will put a bowl of rice in front of a hungry child, buy a school uniform, purchase school books so they can attend school. Help a family stay together, so their child is not wondering the streets. Your gift will help translate Christian literature into the native language of that country. Send supplies, by evangelist and church leaders, to tribal communities, which opens the door for evangelism to them as well.
Did you know that there are tribes throughout the world who still live in their indigenous state. They wear the same dress,
practice the same old customs, still use witch doctors, practice paganism and worship idols? Yes, in 2010, in the era of
advanced technology as we have, people around the world still live in their traditional culture and furthermore....have never
heard of Jesus Christ.
Truly, when the Lord Jesus said to his disciples in Acts 1:8, that they would be witnesses unto Him, even unto the
uttermost part of the earth, He included us in that commission....and surely these indigenous ones are now "our"
uttermost part of the earth. Please consider a love gift to see that the Gospel is spread to these people.
